Safety As in all fun activities, it is important to be safe while riding an electric scooter, bicycle, moped, ATV, or mobility scooter. We want you to be safe, so we recommend safety measures be taken. Any body who is traveling faster than 5-7 mph, or is riding out in the street should have at least a bicycle helmet on. If you are going to be traveling over 20-25 mph, we suggest you wear a motocycle helmet and leather gloves. A leather jacket is also good protection for your skin if you should get hit or go down for some other reason. For Kids riding scooters, we suggest elbow and knee pads, as well as a helmet. Here is a useful link about a specific type of vehicle's safety issues: For ATV safety issues click here
Federal and State Laws The Federal government has passed a bill governing the use of electric bicycles on public roadways and this law supercedes any local or state laws. This bill basically says, that if you are riding an electrically powered two or three wheeled vehicle that has functioning pedals, you are allowed on the road and you are governed by bicycle laws. This allows all of our electric bicycle vehicles to be legally driven on the street without a registration or a driver's license. Even though most of our electric bicycles look like mopeds or a mobility scooter. This law still applies to them. If you would like to see the bill in it's entirety or print a copy follow the following link to a pdf copy that is downloadable.
